Asphalt Playing Courts
The most compelling advantage of asphalt playing courts is that they require little or no maintenance. Owners can also customize the color, speed and cushioning of the court to suit individual preferences. Many private homeowners use their asphalt courts for activities like tennis, netball and basketball.
Service
Kerbs
We design concrete kerbs that are essential to separate surfaces for physical and visual delineation of the pavement and other trafficked areas. Kerbs discourage drivers from parking or driving on sidewalks and lawns, and structurally support the pavement edge. Kerbs are also used to channel runoff water from the rain into storm drains.
The Paving Group offers a wide range of sophisticated and contemporary options to give your pavement edge a striking finish.
Service
Double Surface Dressing
Surface dressing is one of the fastest and most economical ways to fix your pavement. Double surface dressings are robust and give extra cover to an existing bituminous road. We apply two simple surface dressings, one with a smaller sized aggregate than the other. After applying the bituminous binder to the surface, we spread and tamp the aggregate layer for a pristine finish.
Service
Milling
Milling involves removing the top layer of asphalt to a specified and even depth, without disturbing the underlying sub-base. This allows us to lay new asphalt without increasing the height of the road and saves you time if the sub-base doesn’t need to be fixed. With milling, kerbs, drainage and other existing structures remain undisturbed. You may want to mill an area to level a paved surface or repair damage that the pavement has incurred.
Service
Concrete Drains
It is very important that you create structures so water flows efficiently from your property. The Paving Group designs and constructs all concrete drainage systems to meet our clients’ needs. We construct several types of drains including U Drains, V Drains, swales, catch basins, etc.
Service
Asphalt Paving
New Construction:
This involves excavating and grading, and implementing proper drainage. Then we install an aggregate base course and compact it as a supportive structure. Finally, we design a special asphalt mix based on your needs and apply it to present a finished surface.
Resurfacing:
An overlay can be your best friend when done in time. Instead of demolishing an existing pavement section, overlay with a layer of asphalt. Properly applied, an overlay builds on what you already have invested in your road or parking lot, without removal and replacement costs.
Overlays are typically 1 1/2 inches thick, but we also consider the road’s potential traffic and the client’s needs. Sometimes an overlay gives a longer life than a new section and at half to two-thirds of the cost.
Patching
We offer two services:
Excavate, Remove and Replace
We use rehabilitation patching for areas with severely damaged pavement that should be removed for it to be properly repaired. We determine the depth of the removal by the expected traffic on the pavement and the existing sub-base condition.
Sheet Patching
A sheet patch covers the existing pavement. It is only used when there is no base failure, to achieve drainage or for a low budget short term “Quick Fix.” Sheet patches are 1 inch or less in thickness. When we use it to fill depressions the sheet patch could be as thick as three or four inches.
